Born in New Jersey, Susan Graff, owner of Handsome Hound Dog Treats, has enjoyed baking for most of her life.

When Susan started her own pet sitting business, A Whole Lotta Love Dog Walking and Pet Services, in 2009, she began baking homemade dog and cat treats for her clients on special occasions.

When Covid hit in 2020, A Whole Lotta Love Dog Walking and Pet Service’s business came to a halt. To assist AWLL’s employees financially during the shutdown, she began selling her dog and cat treats as a fundraiser. The fundraiser was a success! It ran for over a year and raised over $6,000.00 that benefitted the AWLL family.

In the spring of 2021, as people became vaccinated, pet sitting began to pick up again! But unfortunately, some of the AWLL family moved away and hiring new personnel proved to be difficult. Susan had to make the difficult decision to close AWLL and pursue baking homemade dog and cat treats full time! In November of 2021, Handsome Hound Dog Treats was born!

Susan’s hope is to deliver wholesome, handmade treats to the dogs and cats of Durham, NC and beyond!

When Susan is not baking treats, she writes about them. She writes a monthly newsletter featuring articles about pets. And wrote a regular column in Heart2Home Magazine, called “Tails in the Kitchen”, which included recipes for dog and cat treats.

Currently, Susan resides in Durham with her husband and four dogs. She enjoys spending time with her furbabies and plays tennis in her spare time.
